As more and more people and therefore probably our members use or will use Facebook in the future we decided to enable login to the site using Facebook account credentials.

In order to do this you need to add your Facebook ID to your site profile which can be done either by using the fields below or on the Account Information tab of your profile edit pages. A Facebook ID is a lengthy number that is not always easy to recognise on the Facebook pages therfore we have added a button titled Get Facebook ID to make this process easier.
If you are already logged onto Facebook clicking this button will display a window requesting you give permission to an application called vr-sar to access your basic information, if you are not currently logged onto Facebook this window will be preceeded by a Facebook login window.
The website is provided by a service called VolunteerRescue that is owned and operated by SKRPC Holdings Inc. who are also the creators of the vr-sar application mentioned above. VolunteerRescue and SKRPC Holdings Inc. do not store any of your basic information other than your Facebook ID on their servers and do not have access to your Facebook logon credentials nor will VolunteerRescue or SKRPC Holdings Inc. pass your Facebook ID onto any one else.
At this stage Facebook do not allow applications to post information to the walls of Facebook users as a way of controlling spam so it is not possible to send notifications direct to your Facebook account rather than using email and text although this is something we would have liked to do; we will continue to monitor this in the event Facebook do provide the facililty for applications to post to a Facebook wall.
