Dear Volunteer,

The St John Rescue Corps is planning to organise a training camp at Kostanz between the 11th to the 17th June 2014. The training camp includes Rescue Diving (for qualified Rescue Divers), Truck Driving (for Qualified truck drivers), USAR (mainly shoring & High Angle) and First Aid.

We are trying to make arrangements to get funds to subsidise this trip. To secure funding we need to proceed swiftly with applications etc and therefore if you are interested in attending this training camp, you are kindly asked to register by Saturday 1st March at 1400hrs. Please spread the word with other members. Unfortunately we have been informed about this yesterday. If our application for funding is not successful, we can still go ahead with this training camp, but members will then pay for their flights and food. We will be camping at the THW Konstanz Quarters which are equipped with cooking facilities and ablutions.

All members with an Rescue Volunteer Class I rank and higher are eligible to apply for this training.

On Saturday 1st March the Civil Protection Department will be holding an open day at Hal Far and we have been invited to carry out demos and setup a static display. The event starts at 0815 with Mass attended by CPD Personnel and volunteers, followed by demos and other activities throughout the day until 1700. As the activities start very early, we will setup our static display and demo equipment the day before and then camp overnight on site.

For planning and logistics purposes, for this event, we created two events in the VR system, one for the overnight camp and the other for the Open Day, therefore kindly register your attendance accordingly. If you are coming late on Saturday kindly inform me by email.

Scheduled training for that day will be postponed to following Saturday so that all members including recruits can attend this event.

Regards,
